If you reading this and have visited the site before, then you will know it is now different. As discussed in the previous post (Winds of Change) the site has been upgraded to run on the DotNetNuke platform.
Some good news... I have managed to do Phase 1, 2 and 3 at the same time - so everything is now on the new site. Rather than do each phase one at a time (fully updated with all the nice to haves), it seemed better to get all the core functionality working quickly. And now it is. Side of effect (hopefully minor) of this is that a few of the nice to haves still need a little work which I will get round to over the coming weeks.
While core functionality (making posts, asking questions and the Wiki) is the same, there are a few changes worth noting:
- the profile system has been updated, particularly giving more control over your privacy settings. Due to this you will need to redo your profile if you are an existing member.
- after monitoring the forums and how the are used, these have replaced these with a question and answer (Yahoo style) system. I think this will make it easier to ask questions and find answers.
That's it really. If you are an existing member I hope you like the changes. New members ... welcome and enjoy the site. If you have feedback on the new site please use the Contact Us page to let me know.
