How is the transformer selection and how do we arrive maximum kA in the system?

kA at the primary should be provided by the Utility. You can calculate the kA at the secondary using this value and MVA of transformer by pu or other methods.

I think this is two questions. Both of the answers need to be calculated during design. There are some posts on the site on Maximum Demand which will help with the transformers sizes. Also some Wiki pages on fault calculations which will help with kA. If you can ask more specific questions explaining exactly what you want, I’ll try to answer in more detail.
