Dear Steve.

Thanks for the note you are publishing.i am having doubt on BUS bar selection of a switch gear.
1.if the main breaker is rated 2500A,can we have a main bus bar with the same rating?.what is the applicable standerd.
2.i've seen a panel designed in that way. incmming breaker is of 2500A.main bus bar also 2500A rated.
3.can we have out going breakers (say 4 nos of 1200A) where collective ampear range is more than that of incomming breaker

pls explain.

I do have a doubt on bus coupling.
1.what are the parameters we should consider when we have a bus couple in between two panels.
2.if we have two panels having two 2500A incomming breakers and 4 nos of 1200A out going breakers in each panel. can we have 2500A main bus and couple them togather?

If can, how can a 2500A bus can suppor at a full load.

pls help me

Thanks
Sumedha

1) bus bar rating should be same or below rating to incoming breaker.but this is very important that fault current clearing  capacity of CB should be below or same to BUS bar

2)  yes u can have 4 nos 1200Amp. o/g CBs what is more then incoming or collective CB capacity but it is depend on lot of factors

second question of second para, is possible but depend on bus bar load study and other vital cases
