Current transmitter with VFD controlled motor

I would like to know that whether a Current transmitter is used with VFD controlled motor?

Within the VFD device itself, direct and quadrature current is measured. Often the line current of the motor external to the VFD is measured to give feedback to the VFD for better speed and slip control. Current can is also measured for metering and protection purposes.

CTs or other types of sensors (hall effect for example) are used. The current measurement can be transmitted via wires or converted to some type of signal (4-20 mA for example) and transmitted as such. The output of a VFD is a high frequency modulated signal which is probably easier to deal with using sensors (true RMS) and transmitters.
